La Garde-Freinet
Pittoresque charm of an old Saracen village
La Garde-Freinet is a small, quite high-altitude Sarazen village with about 2,000 inhabitants not far from the coastal region. You can reach the village with departure from the coastal road via a scenic and top developed country road in 15 minutes of jam-free travel time.
The authentic village character and the scenic surroundings not far from the coastal hustle and bustle attract many holidaymakers and you will find numerous beautiful properties with large plots that offer a fantastic landscape view at cheaper prices than in a direct coastal location. Therefore, La Garde-Freinet is certainly an attractive location for a holiday stay, which is also very popular with hikers and cyclists in the months of low season.
Restauranttipps
Numerous small restaurants in the centre of the village offer a partly very good cuisine and an attractive environment. Recommendable is the restaurant “La Petite Freinet” with good Mediterranean cuisine at a reasonable price.
For lovers of oriental-Mediterranean cuisine, a visit to “La Feuille” is recommended – vegetarians are also well catered for here.
